A few weeks ago I made a very special cake for my cousin Jen who I abosolutely adore, it was her baby shower and I felt I needed to give her a cake that was sure to impress. It was my second attempt at making a double tier cake and my first attempt at making fondant animals. For those of you who know me well, you know I'm always rushing last minute... but for once I knew if I was going to make this cake without flaws I was going to have to put some creative hours into it. To do so I started the fondant animals about three weeks in advance and took pride in making each one one day at a time. As they were my first set of fondant animals I was more than happy with the outcome and hope you think so as well.
Below is one of the only photos of the cake that I have at the moment, my camera charger is packed away for my move this spring so right now I'm relying on family photos ;)
I have another project coming up soon that is kinda special as well, my birthday! Yes my bestest Melissa has asked me to bake something for my special day! Since my blog is called Mademoiselles Cupcakes and my first post is about a cake, I definitley need to get working on some cupcakes! So stay tuned for more of my creations.
